Downloads / Services

A suite of digital library services are being created and made available by the OCKHAM project. These tools seek to reduce the barriers of access and integration of collections and services of the NSDL and other digital libraries.

MyLibrary@OCKHAM

MyLibrary@OCKHAM is a demonstration of how to make National Science Foundation Digital Library content more available through traditional libraries venues. This goal is accomplished in four steps: 1) create a framework for storing relevent content using MyLibrary, 2) harvest content from the NSDL OAI Repository, and save it to the underlying MyLibrary database, 3) write reports against the database in the form of browsable lists, and 4) index the content to provide searchable interfaces.

OCKHAM Alert

OCKHAM Alert is an alerting service which utilizes a proposed method for providing a current awareness service against the content of OAI repositories as well as library catalogs. More information on OCKHAM Alert can currently be found at http://alert.ockham.org.

OCKHAM Harvest-to-Query (H2Q)

H2Q provides an easy, out-of-the-box method for enabling any OAI-PMH available collection to be Z39.50 available. Future versions will also allow for SRU/SRW querying.

OCKHAM Registry

The OCKHAM Registry enables easy advertising and discovery of digital library services. The Registry software is run locally at each participating institution, enabling local control over the use of the registry - in other words, it is a distributed registry.

The registry is now in production.
